TROUBLED TEENS PROCEDURE:

Your child may be experiencing problems with anger management, substance abuse, promiscuity, school difficulties or truancy, low self esteem, family discord, and inappropriate friends. As a certified educational planner, I have worked with hundreds of families in your situation and I understand the apprehension, heartbreak, and turmoil that you are experiencing as a parent of a child in trouble.  I stay current with hundreds of boarding schools, treatment centers with academic components or therapeutic schools and wilderness programs, through personal visits, networking with school and program personnel, and national conferences. Families use my service to learn of the variety of choices available to a student with a unique set of strengths, weaknesses and interests in academic, interpersonal and athletic areas.  Every applicant is addressed in an individualized manner, but the following is typical.

1. Review of school and evaluation data and reports.
2. A confidential in-depth interview of the student, parents and other
involved professionals
3. Suggestions for greater academic efforts on the part of the student
(if appropriate)
4. Contacting appropriate program/school options and forwarding of all relevant records to the schools
5. Assistance in planning campus visits
6. Help with the final school decision
7. If requested, monitoring of the student while he is away at school which allows the consultant to keep abreast of the students progress through periodic school personnel contact and school records.

I am available for appointments at two different offices, and also for travel to your hometown.             

My services include guidance to implement suggested changes or for the most appropriate manner to facilitate the placement of your child, and for assistance with the final school decision.  I continue to monitor your child's progress while he is away at school with either scheduled interviews with therapists or written reports.
